Community Synagogue of Rye (CSR), a Reform Jewish congregation serving Westchester County, NY and lower Fairfield County, CT since 1948, seeks an Executive Director to partner with the Senior Rabbi, clergy team, senior staff and Board of Trustees to implement the congregations vision and to lead all non-religious and non-educational operations of CSR.

CSR is well known for its innovative and dynamic approach to fostering community, Jewish learning and Jewish living. The congregations mission is to be a caring Jewish community that seeks to bring meaning and purpose to each person's life. It aspires to be a center for spiritual transformation, to foster the creation of sacred relationships, and to give people the tools and resources to be God's partner in healing the world.

This vision is guided by CSRs commitment to the Jewish values of Worship (T'filah), Life-Long Learning (Talmud Torah), Community (Kehilah), Loving Kindness (Hesed), Repairing the World (Tikkun Olam) and Love of Israel (Ahavat Yisrael).

CSR houses a comprehensive, NY State-licensed Early Childhood Center, with a reputation for high quality learning experiences for children (two through age five), a summer camp, as well as a highly regarded religious school (known as the Center for Jewish Learning), which provides meaningful opportunities for all students (from kindergarten through 12th grade) to find and explore their own unique path to Jewish identity and involvement.

CSR has a highly engaged membership including dedicated lay leaders and experienced professional staff who help organize innovative community programming, bringing speakers, musicians and cultural engagement to its members and wider community, and building connections within the synagogue, the greater Westchester community and beyond. There are many active task forces and committees in the synagogue that provide meaningful engagement opportunities in a variety of areas of Jewish life.

CSR has a membership of approximately 480 households, a full time professional staff of seven, a support staff of four, a custodial staff of three and an annual budget of approximately $3.2 million.

CSR is the midst of an exciting project to modernize and transform its facility, begun in June of 2016. This transformation will enable the congregation to meet the evolving needs of the community and to continue to thrive well into the future. With this project, our Kadima capital campaign continues to raise the necessary funds.
This is an exciting time to join the CSR team!
